Surveillance Radar Approach Night

Published by Niels de Roo on

On Saturday, May 24th, the Dutch VACC will be organising a remarkable event at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol: a Surveillance Radar Approach Night! The purpose of this event is to give pilots an opportunity to fly and practice something else than an ordinary ILS-approach.

We’ll offer you the chance to fly a Surveillance Radar Approach on our main landing runway during which you are “talked down” by a controller giving you precise altitude and heading instructions. Are you up for the challenge? Join us between 17:30 and 20:00 UTC at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol! Charts are available over here. Not familiar with an SRA? Watch this video and see how it’s done.
